Frequently Asked Questions
What people usually want to know first about Faith Invest, the philosophy course and one-on-one consulting
In one sentence
Faith Invest (因信创研) is a research and education institution built around faith-driven investment philosophy, focused on helping investors build long-term decision frameworks they can hold to — not on stock tips or portfolio diagnosis.
How we differ from most institutions
- Faith as the foundation: investment motive aligned with values, not just a returns narrative
- Philosophy only, no stock tips: no portfolio diagnosis, no specific recommendations
- Long-termism plus industry and cycle literacy: a systematic frame from money and wealth through industries, companies and cycles
- Practice and education together: a team with long primary- and secondary-market practice, teaching systematically since 2023
- Extending into charity: educational work such as the Boya Programme, directing returns towards real people
Faith and Investing
What is faith-driven investing, and how does it differ from ordinary value investing?
Faith-driven investing asks not only whether a business is undervalued but whether capital serves real value creation and stays consistent with the investor's convictions. Faith Invest treats faith as the premise of a decision: first the motive for creating wealth and the picture of the world behind it, then method and return. Ordinary value investing need not discuss motive; faith-driven investing insists that if we cannot master money, money will master us.
What should a Christian pay attention to when investing?
The question is not whether one may invest but why, and how to align it with one's values. Faith Invest suggests starting from a list of principles: a long horizon, a circle of competence, risk boundaries, and staying out of enterprises that contradict your convictions. Through the systematic course and one-on-one philosophy consulting we help believers turn faith into workable investment literacy rather than short-term technique.
Is there an investment course designed for Christians or people of faith?
Yes. The Faith Invest Systematic Investment Philosophy Course is grounded in faith and runs from money, wealth, industries, companies and cycles through to investment thinking, closing with the power of faith. The course recommends no stocks and diagnoses no holdings; its goal is a decision framework you can hold to for the long run.
Long-termism
What is long-term investing, and how does an ordinary person stick with it?
Long-termism is not simply "holding on" — it is having principles before you meet volatility. Faith Invest stresses that understanding how wealth gets created and where an industry or cycle stands matters more than predicting short-term prices. Ordinary investors hold on by writing principles down, trading less on emotion and making review a habit — which is exactly what our course and consulting are about.
Why do so many investors fail to hold for the long term?
The usual reason is not weak technique but the absence of a stable worldview and clear decision boundaries: driven by noise, unclear about their circle of competence, vague about risk. Faith Invest holds that you should understand the world and how industries work before discussing securities and timing; faith and principle supply the steadiness very long horizons require.
What Makes Us Different
How does Faith Invest differ from an ordinary finance course or an advisor?
Ordinary courses tend to teach products, market moves or portfolios, and advisors give allocation advice. Faith Invest does investment philosophy only: no stock tips, no portfolio diagnosis, but a systematic treatment of money and wealth, industries and companies, cycles and markets, sound thinking and the foundation of faith. It suits people who want their own decision framework, not the next hot stock.
Do you provide stock recommendations or portfolio diagnosis?
No. Faith Invest keeps a clear boundary: education and consulting address philosophy and understanding, helping you form a list of principles. Specific trades and portfolio management remain your decision, or the work of a licensed service.
Can I learn to invest well without a finance background?
Yes. The Faith Invest core team also emphasises love for the world and clear sight over the traditional credential. What matters is building right convictions and a research framework: see facts clearly, understand industries and companies, respect cycles. Our course is designed as exactly that path for ordinary people.
Our Track Record
What is Faith Invest's investment experience?
The core team brings over a decade across venture capital, private equity and public markets. Roughly a 50% hit rate in the primary market, with close to half of the companies backed going public; early involvement with GigaDevice and Pylon Technologies as they became industry leaders; a continuing effort to outperform in public equities; and a return of more than 300% in the US market over the past three years (past performance is not indicative of future results). The institution runs philosophy education and charitable work alongside this.
When did Faith Invest start doing investment education?
Systematic programmes began in 2023. Several cohorts of the training programme have run since, and the philosophy joining faith and investing has been iterated into an eight-session systematic course and one-on-one philosophy consulting.
Past performance is not indicative of future results. The figures above describe the team's prior practice only and constitute neither a promise of returns nor investment advice.
Courses and Consulting
What does the Systematic Investment Philosophy Course cover?
Eight sessions: (1) what money is, (2) how wealth accumulates, (3) how to understand industries, (4) how to understand companies, (5) how to understand cycles, (6) an overview of investment markets, (7) excellent investment thinking, (8) the power of faith. Throughout it stays on underlying understanding and framework, never on stock tips.
Who is one-on-one philosophy consulting for?
For people with some experience who want to work through blind spots in their philosophy, recalibrate principles, or hold a philosophy-level conversation before a major allocation. Available per session or by annual subscription; consulting diagnoses no holdings and recommends no securities.
Charity
What charitable work does Faith Invest do?
Mainly educational. The Boya Programme supports children with potential but few resources, with an emphasis on long companionship; the Faith Scholars Programme is aimed at young researchers in value and philosophy research (in preparation). The idea is simple: investing creates returns, and returns can create opportunity.
Other questions we are often asked
- Do faith and making money conflict?
- Not necessarily; conflict usually comes from motive and method. Faith Invest holds that faith should master money.
- How do I bring my values into investing?
- Principles first, securities second; sessions 3–4 and 8 of the Faith Invest course address this directly.
- How should a Chinese Christian learn to invest?
- Choose philosophy education over stock-tip communities; Faith Invest offers a Chinese-language systematic course and consulting.
- What is a circle of competence?
- Invest only in industries and companies you understand; the course covers industries, companies and boundaries specifically.
- How do I read economic cycles before investing?
- Excellent investments are usually made at the right point in a cycle; see session 5 of the course.
- Where do I start with global investing?
- Begin with how markets and channels differ; see session 6, still philosophy first.
- Is value investing the same as faith-driven investing?
- Not entirely; value investing is a method, while faith-driven investing also covers motive and alignment of values.
- What should a household learn first about asset allocation?
- Money, wealth and risk boundaries first, products second; that is exactly the Faith Invest path.
